Shiatsu massage

Shiatsu is a holistic Japanese treatment method based on Chinese medicine. It includes pressure, massage, stretches and rocking movements. These are used to work on the body’s meridian lines and acupoints, easing tension in the body.

The core idea of Shiatsu is to allow energy (qi) to flow freely throughout the body. It is a wonderful form of massage treatment that can release blockages, balance the body and stimulate metabolism. Shiatsu can help with so many things, it is genuinely my favourite type of massage or treatment.

Shiatsu happens on a mattress on the floor, and the customer wearing comfortable and relaxed clothing. Part of the treatment is done sitting, part lying on the stomach and part lying on the back. The treatment is suitable for everyone, as it can be carried out with different levels of intensity, and individually adapted.

A typical Shiatsu session lasts about 1.5 hours. Shorter sessions are also available if needed.

Alongside Shiatsu, I also offer dry cupping treatments. This is a traditional method in which cups are placed on the skin using negative pressure, without breaking the skin. Dry cupping stimulates metabolism, relaxes muscles and supports the removal of waste products from the body.

Dry cupping can be thought of as the opposite direction of massage: instead of pressing the muscle downwards, it is gently lifted upwards.
